A modern rental house NEWTON is taking shape in Mustamäe

Scandium Kinnisvara, the largest developer of rental apartments in Estonia, is developing a five-storey rental house next to Tehnopol in Mustamäe. The building at 78d Kadaka Road is currently under construction. The house with 90 rental apartments will be completed this summer.

There will be three types of rental apartments in the NEWTON rental house: popular lofts, rental studios, and dormitory type apartments for two people. Rental apartments range in size from 12 to 28 square meters. In addition to the rental apartments, the house will accommodate a 24/7 open-air gym, an entertainment room, a laundry room and a furnished outdoor terrace overlooking the forest park. There will be parking spaces on the deepened ground floor for cars as well as for electric bikes and scooters.

Maido Lüiste, CEO of Scandium Real Estate: “At Tallinn Science Park Tehnopol, there are over 18,000 young people studying and working, all of whom need an inspiring and high-quality place to stay. Thinking of them, a unique rental house with ample opportunity to spend time will be completed next to the Leibur building in the summer of 2020. All rental apartments will be furnished, making moving in particularly convenient and fast for future residents. The house together with all the rental apartments will remain in Scandium Kinnisvara’s portfolio.”

Kalle Aron, Development Manager at Scandium Real Estate: “NEWTON will become the first co-living rental house in Estonia. Instead of just a place to sleep and rest, we create convenient opportunities for residents to spend their leisure time, exercise, and socialize. The aim is to provide for young people who are just moving to Tallinn, a community and in the future, a community of friends with whom to create new startups, promote Estonian entrepreneurship and carry out interesting projects.”The architecture of the house is inspired by the Bauhaus style. The architects are OÜ Kauss Arhitektid, and the main contractor is Stark Ehitus OÜ. The house will be completed this summer.
