Kadarik Tüür Architects won the architectural competition of the Mustamäe skyscraper

Scandium Kinnisvara organized an architectural competition for the construction of the tallest, 24-story apartment building and 6-story office building in Mustamäe, in which four prestigious Estonian architectural firms took part. The entry KÄBI by Kadarik Tüür Architects was chosen as the winner.

Through the architectural competition, four different visions were received from top Estonian architects about what a new landmark in Western Tallinn could look like,” commented Maido Lüiste, CEO of Scandium Kinnisvara. “The strength of KTA’s work was an architectural solution aesthetically compatible with the existing Mustamäe center building, next to which the new buildings will be erected. At the same time, the building will significantly stand out from the surrounding light-colored panel houses. “Large, glazed balconies, well-designed home layouts, panoramic views of the city and rich common areas for residents will make the future building complex a quality living environment for families already living in the area today, as well as for those coming from afar to look for a new home,” said Lüiste.

“When planning the sketch project, the goal was to create a complete and multifunctional quarter, which consists of today’s Mustamäe Center and three new building volumes – an apartment building, an office building, and a parking lot,” commented Ott Kadarik, the winning entry of Kadarik Tüür Architects. “The architectural idea of a high-rise apartment building is expressed in long and comfortably wide, glazed balconies, the service life of which is long even as the seasons change. The roof garden and the breathtaking views from the upper floors will make you want to change your place of residence,” said Kadarik.

The development of the Mustamäe tower building consists of three parts – a 24-story residential building with one to four-room apartments, a 6-story office building, and a 3-story parking garage. In addition to the winner, KTA, Martin Aunin, Allianss Arhitektid, and KOKO Arhitektid participated in the architectural competition. The winning work of the architectural competition will be the basis for the developer to design the building complex.
