Tallinn-based real estate developer Scandium has opened Estonia’s first co-living concept rental house Newton Studios. The house has 90 furnished rental apartments. In addition, comfortable opportunities have been created for residents to spend time together and create a sense of community.
Newton Studios, developed by Scandium, has four types of rental studios, each with a private kitchen and bathroom. The house focuses on the co-living concept. Newton has various common areas, such as a table tennis room, gym, and community garden. The house hosts events and gatherings for residents, from board game evenings to theme parties and film screenings.
Kalle Aron, Partner and Development Manager of Scandium: “Scandium has always created common areas in rental houses, where people can do important things in terms of saving time and comfort. With the concept of co-living in mind, we have gone a step further and worked on spaces that would bring people together, provide entertainment, and the opportunity to meet their fellow residents. The aim is to provide for young people who are just moving to Tallinn, a community of friends with whom to create new startups, promote Estonian entrepreneurship, and carry out world-changing projects.”
Ildiko Siimon, Head of Scandium co-living business line: “All in all, Newton is a new accommodation concept in Estonia. You can stay here for as long as you need – be it a week or several years. All studios are fully furnished, making moving in quick and convenient. There is even everything you need for cooking in the cupboards, not to mention the internet spreading all over the house. As the manager of the house, we also make sure that interesting events take place here regularly and that the concept of co-living really gets a boost in Estonia.”
Newton Studios, together with all rental apartments, will remain in the portfolio of Scandium Realestate managed by its subsidiary Nestin Rent. The architects of the house are Kauss Architects, and the main contractor was Stark Contraction.
