The future promises change and development
The Kopli urban region is waking up from years of dormancy. This area is prized for its unique architectural and historic stratification. Residents also appreciate the proximity to the city centre, the greenery and the sea. The rebuilding of the Kopli Lines has kick-started the development of the entire peninsula.
Time for big changes
Põhja-Tallinn is in the process of drawing up a progressive new comprehensive plan that will open up previously closed factory and port areas to city residents. The new comprehensive plan opens up the prospect of an ambitious seafront network and the extension of existing tramways. The creation of a unique intra-Tallinn urban train service is also on the table.
The most notable new developments in the Kopli urban region are the Marati Quarter, Põhjala Factory, the Bekker harbour residential and commercial quarter (upcoming), the Meeruse harbour residential and commercial quarter, the Kopli Lines, the Bekker Villa, the Paljassaare harbour residential area, the Paljassaare film campus, the Sitsi Manufactory Quarter and the Pollinator Highway.
